The Palms
Small area of picabeen palms
Access
The Palms National Park can be reached by travelling from Crows Nest to Cooyar. The park is 8 kilometres east of Cooyar.
Features
The Palms is a small picabeen palm grove that has a stream passing through it. Picabeen palms (Archonotophoenix cunninghamiana) were once hollowed out by early settlers and used as guttering for their houses. As all the surrounding area has been cleared, The Palms preserves an important remnant of this vegetation type. There is a short circuit track that will take you through the park and give you a chance to view some of the wildlife that visits The Palms.
